David Hockney exhibition Tate Modern. London. Oct 2016

Jocelyn and I recently went to see the Hockney exhibition at Tate Britain in London. Lots of iconic artwork from throughout his career but I was particularly interested in his use of Ipads for drawing with as a group of students I work with are involved with using them in their current assignments. A whole room was dedicated to his digital drawings, his methods and subject matter. I have always enjoyed his creative use of digital technology in his work from when ,as a student, I first came across his use of xerox (photocopiers) machines and fax machines (remember those?). However I still love his traditional drawing especially his use of coloured pencils. Very inspiring. We then moved on to the Paul Nash exhibition also at Tate Britain which was equally brilliant but that’s another story.
